The lingering afterglow of an August evening delicately bathes
Mt. McKinley ("Denali") as darkness settles on Denali National
Park.
Denali (Athbascan for "High One") is the highest mountain in North
America, and dominates the Alaskan landscape. A maker of its own
weather, it is typically obscured by clouds, much to the frustration
of many short-term visitors.
Really just experimenting, I was photographing in the near-dark
of a very cold late August evening, measuring exposures in minutes.
Over the years I've tried to duplicate this image, but without
success. |
